No recurring characters in Mass Effect Andromeda
BioWare have taken to Twitter to hint at a few details about the next installment of the incredibly popular Mass Effect series, Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Senior development director Chris Wynn responded to fans questions regarding some of the game mechanics and whether or not we would see any familiar faces when our new protagonist ventures out into the titular Andromeda system next year:
@Linkenski your assumption is a safe one. There are some new elements that make it more dynamic, but overall similar feel.

Mass Effect 3‘s combat system was arguably the best in the series, moving away from the clunky and often problematic combat of the first two games and providing a much more fluid experience. Though Mass Effect: Andromeda is being built on a whole new engine, it is good to hear that there will be elements from previous games carried over.
And what of the recurring characters? Since the new game was announced at this year’s E3, fans have been repeatedly speculating about whether or not some of their old favourites would journey to Andromeda to help or even possibly hinder the main character. Wynn sadly refutes this possibility though, stating that it would be very unlikely:
@_Anderzzz story wise, it wouldn't make much sense.

However, he does admit that they have no finished adding every single character into the story yet so there might still be a possibility that minor characters may somehow find their way into the build to make a cameo.
