GTA 6 subject of fake trailer

Exactly where the creators have got this footage from isn’t clear, as some of it really does look like some sort of next gen graphics engine test. Or maybe it’s just live action footage, it’s getting increasingly hard t tell nowadays. Especially when you’re watching fake trailers.

But in the end the most obvious proof that the trailer is fake is simply the terrible logo, which is so obviously fan made it immediately spoils the illusion.

Also, apparently the first version of the trailer spelt Rockstar’s name wrong. Which kind of gives the game away. The English in the video description is also pretty ropey.

But there’s no denying some of the imagery isn’t interesting, although it’s a little hard to see what kind of setting the creators are getting at. The logo implies some sort of follow-up to Vice City, but the cities also seem to include New York/Liberty City and what looks like a European city.

In terms of the real GTA VI it’s not clear when, or even if, they’ll be a new game. Rockstar recently said they had no plans for new story DLC for GTA V and that everyone was currently working on GTA Online.

That may mean that the next game is actually GTA Online 2, although whatever happens next the trailer is probably right to guess it won’t be before 2017.
